The golf championships are drawing to a close, and New Albany girls and Ingomar boys participated in their state title matches earlier this week.
The Lady Bulldogs finished third as a team in the 4A/5A competition, finishing behind Hernando and Center Hill, both 5A schools.
Lauren Dunlap shot a team-best 180 over the two-day competition, 96 on day one and 84 on day two.
Summer Sanderson finished with a 189, while Lenzi Sanderson shot a 211. Lucy Martin also participated, but the top three scores from the competition were used toward the overall team score.
In Tupelo, Ingomar boys finished second in the state to St. Aloysius.
The Falcons were led by Chandler Thompson, who shot a 161, finishing second overall to Hunter Hammett of Sacred Heart, who finished with a 155.
Matt Hale finished behind Thompson with an overall 166, and Molly Hale finished with a 171, shooting a 91 and 81 over the two days.
New Albany boys were in second round competition on Thursday. After the first round on Wednesday, the Bulldogs were in fourth place behind Lewisburg, Corinth and Kosciusko.
First round results for the Bulldogs were: Peyton Dunlap 72, Holt Garrett 78, Ryne Stanford 82, Will Cherry 84, Will Robbins 104.
