Ingomar captured second place finishes in both boys and girls district meets at Tupelo Christian last weekend.
Falling by 13 points to the host school TCPS, the Falcons were led by Tyler Warren’s second place finish in the varsity 5K. The next finisher for Ingomar was Jonathan Sweatt in sixth, and a host of Falcons finished tenth, eleventh, thirteenth, fifteenth and eighteenth, giving Ingomar 43 points overall.
TCPS had the top finisher in Zach Pitts and finished with 29 points. Tremont rounded out the competition in third place with 50 points overall.
Sydney Roberts won the overall title in the girls 4K, finishing with a time of 18:36. Kelly Mayo was next for the Lady Falcons in fourth place, while Erin Wall, Macy Kirk and Kelsey Ferguson all had top 10 finishes, giving Ingomar 32 points overall.
TCPS won the overall team title, finishing with 29 points and were led by Cassidy Blaylock, who placed second behind Roberts.
New Albany competed in its district meet on Thursday, Oct. 27, and East Union, Myrtle and West Union will run its district meets on Saturday, Oct. 29. The state championships will be held at Choctaw Trails on Saturday, Nov. 2.
