The Rascals split with the GT Jets over the weekend, winning 7-4 on Saturday and dropping a 15-10 decision on Sunday.
David Williams went 2-for-4, while Chris Lucius was 2-for-5 in Sunday’s game.
The Jets went up 10-0 before the Rascals saw their first runs, and despite a strong effort, Tallahatchie’s comeback fell short.
The Rascals put up five runs in the fifth, scoring all five before registering their first out of the inning.
Myrtle’s Jimel Judon led with a double, as Tallahatchie had five hits and an error by the Jets.
GT would respond in the sixth, posting their final five runs, as Ben Flemming from Columbus had a grand slam, making it 15-5.
Tallahatchie would post three runs in the eighth and started the ninth by loading the bases off two GT errors. Corbin Moore would strike out, ending the game and giving the Rascals only their fourth loss of the season.
Zane Treadaway (1-2) had the loss for Tallahatchie, giving up nine runs off seven hits in three innings of play.
The Rascals were on the winning side Saturday, defeating the Jets, 7-4.
David Williams went 2-for-3, while Tyler Wilson went 2-for-4 in the win, as Brad Luna (2-0) remains unbeaten on the year.
The Jets held the early 3-0 advantage, and the Rascals were able to tie the game in the fourth after a pitching change by GT and two fielding errors.
The Rascals took the lead in the fifth after three hits and two walks and another GT pitching change.
Tallahatchie (11-4, 9-4) will play Tuesday and Thursday this week, both match-ups against the Tupelo Thunder. Tuesday’s game will be at 4 pm, and Thursday’s is slated for 7 pm. Also, the CSBL All-Star game will be played this Saturday, July 18.
