Ingomar, Myrtle pick up fast-pitch wins

INGOMAR – Ingomar posted wins over Tremont and Potts Camp while Myrtle rallied in the late innings to slip by New Albany in summer fast pitch action at Ingomar on Thursday.

Myrtle 7, New Albany 6

Myrtle rallied in the fifth and sixth inning to score all seven runs after New Albany had raced to an 6-0 lead after four innings.

New Albany was led by Quinlan Amos and Aravia Foote offensively as both picked up two singles and scored two runs to pace the Lady Bulldog offense.

Myrtle scored three runs in the fifth and added four more in the sixth.

The Lady Hawks scored all their sixth-inning runs with two outs. Amber Cook and Haley Matkins scored two runs apiece to lead Myrtle. Megan Lowery was the winning pitcher.

Ingomar 19, Tremont 0

Ingomar jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and cruised to the win over Tremont. Lindsay Hall had an inside-the-park homer, Gara Beth Self and Sara McDonald tripled while Morgan Gooch, Carson Grisham and Self doubled to lead the Lady Falcons in the extra base-hit department.

Maggie Smithey reached and scored in her three plate appearances.

McDonald was the winning pitcher, allowing no hits and recording nine strikeouts over three innings of work.

Ingomar 11, Potts Camp 1

The Lady Falcons used a huge second inning to put away the Lady Cardinals, scoring seven runs in the frame and opening up a 9-0 lead.

Gara Beth Self ripped an inside-the-park home run, driving in three runs to get the second inning scoring started.

Ingomar had several players pick up multiple hits. Erin Wall, Kelly Fooshee, Lauren Thompson and Sara McDonald had two hits apiece.

Wall was the winning pitcher for the Lady Falcons.
