Biscuits & Jam Farmers’ Market will host Folk Art on the River every second Saturday during the market’s season, June 14, July 12 and August 9. Hours for second Saturdays will be 7:30 a.m. to noon. Artwork must be handmade. Ten free spaces will be available for the top 10 applications. These spaces will include tent setup and up to two tables. A limited number of booths will be available for additional art vendors for $35 for the season.
This year’s folk art contest will be open to anyone with an original piece of folk art. Artwork should be brought to the market by 10:30 for judging by a panel of local artists at 11:00. The winner will be announced at 11:30. $100 in Main Street Money that can be used at local stores in New Albany will be awarded. The themes this year are birds (June 14), farmer (July 12) and fish (August 9). Like Second Saturdays Folk Art on the River’s Facebook page for more details on the contest as they are available.
The Wee Folk Art tent will be set up again this year for children to do folk art crafts during the event.
