Mississippi Arts Commission announces mini-grant deadline

The Mississippi Arts Commission has announced that applications are now being accepted for the agency’s mini-grant program. The application deadline is Nov. 1. MAC offers two mini-grant deadlines each year (June 1 and Nov. 1) to assist with smaller arts projects around the state.
Mini-grants for organizations are designed to meet a wide variety of needs in Mississippi communities, schools, and arts organizations and to stimulate arts projects in rural and underserved communities. Non-profit organizations or local government entities may apply for up to $1,000 to support presentations by members of the MAC’s Artist Roster, or to support professional development efforts for an arts organization. An organization may receive one mini-grant per fiscal year.
Professional-level artists may apply through the program to support promotion efforts, attending a professional workshop, or to purchase artistic supplies.
Complete grant guidelines and application forms are available on MAC’s website at www.arts.ms.gov or call 601-359-6030 for more details. First time applicants are strongly encouraged to call and speak with a MAC staff member about their project before submitting an application.
The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, funded by the Mississippi Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mississippi Endowment for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, and other private sources. MAC is the official grants-making and service agency for the arts in Mississippi. The agency serves as an active supporter and promoter of arts in community life and in arts education.
