Louis “Mitch” Tomlinson Sr., 73, of Holly Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Marshall County. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Holly Springs Church of Christ. He was a funeral director with United Funeral Service in New Albany and Holly Springs Funeral Home. He was also a deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Holly Springs Police Department.
Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Bro. Kerry Reid, Bro. Todd Sanderson and Bro. Jerry Coates officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs.
He is survived by one son, Louis “Mitch’ Tomlinson Jr. (Starlit) of Holly Springs; grandson, Louis “Trey” Tomlinson III of Holly Springs; granddaughter, Lucinda Graham Tomlinson of Holly Springs; great-grandson, Trevor Ray Tomlinson of Rogers, Ark.; stepdaughter, Paula Smoot (Gary) of Byhalia; four step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bunnie Moore Tomlinson; his parents, Arthur Louis Tomlinson and Pollye Mitchell Tomlinson; two stepchildren, Robert Mitchell and Belinda M. Gaskill.
