Winning by a ‘nuance’

New Albany Elementary student Madison Cotton, left, daughter of Maggi and Jay Cotton, won the Union County Spelling Bee Tuesday by correctly spelling "nuance." David Greer, center, son of David and Amy Greer of West Union, was second and Alex Grubbs, daughter of Rene and Keith Grubbs of New Albany, was third. Behind are Mike and Gloria Bennett, representing the sponsoring group, the American Legion, which provided a $100 prize to the winners and $50 each to the runners-up.
