Fire Chief Brad McMurry presented the Sherman Fire Department’s end-of-the-year report for January through December 2012. The volunteer fire department had 71 total calls of which there were 13 grass fires, 6 structure fires, 6 vehicle fires, 37 medical calls, 6 cancelled in route, 2 hazmat, and 1 severe weather.

Sherman Baptist Church began 25 Days of Prayer Jan. 6.
The Sherman Baptist Men’s fellowship breakfast will be Sunday, Jan. 20, at 7 a.m.

L.T.C. (Leadership Training Conference) will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at Sherman Baptist Church. Training will be provided to all church leaders and teachers. Conferences will include Bible Teaching for Adults, Building an Effective Youth Ministry, Reaching Preschoolers and Children, Deacon Ministry training. It begins at 10:30 a.m. and concludes with lunch.

Brotherhood was held Sunday, Jan. 6, at 7 a.m. at Tri-County Baptist with Josh Swords from Ecru Baptist Church as the guest speaker.

A Youth Rally will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. at Tri-County Baptist.

First Sunday lunch was held at Sherman Church of Christ Sunday, Jan. 6, immediately following the morning worship service.
