Virginia Marbury Moffatt died on Jan. 30, 2012 in Tulsa, Okla. at the age of 84.
She was born in New Albany on Aug. 1, 1927 to Charles B. and Lucille Kitchens Marbury. She graduated from Albany High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Blue Mountain College.
Virginia was a speech teacher, office manager of an oil company, dress shop owner and the loving mother of two fine sons. She taught Sunday School classes for fourteen years at First United Methodist Church in New Albany. Her life was dedicated to prayer for her family and many others.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Finley L. (Bo) Moffatt, Jr.; two sons, Charles Finley Moffatt (Laura) of Tupelo and Jeffrey Blake Moffatt (Sally) of Tulsa, Okla.; a grandson, Stephen Joseph Moffatt (Hollie) of Tupelo; a granddaughter, Hannah Kathryn Moffatt of Tulsa, Okla.; two great-granddaughters, Ivy Lauren Moffatt and Natalie Grace Moffatt of Tupelo.
Services were at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at St. James United Methodist Church at 5050 E. 111th Street in Tulsa, Okla. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Hayhurst Funeral Home at 1660 S. Elm Place, Broken Arrow, Okla. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at the city cemetery in New Albany. Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at Wesley Hall of the First United Methodist Church in New Albany.
