Sarah Reba Bennett, 87, of Etta, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Graceland Care Center of New Albany.
She was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Pontotoc County to Elmo and Velma Foreman Matkins. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a retired Futorian employee. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Peace Makers Quilt Club.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany with Bro. Harvey Reeves and Bro. Charlie Cooper officiating. Interment was in Glenfield Memorial Park. Glenfield Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Wray (Brooks) and Glenda Holden (Jim); a son, James Bennett; seven grandchildren, Wanda Chunn (Glenn), Donna Watford (Joe), Ronald Holden, Kathy Lumpkin ( Michael), Sarah Roaton (Chris), Summer Bennett and Brandy Holden; 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dwight Matkins Jr.; and two sisters, Agnes Register and Marjorie Matkins.
Pallbearers were Brooks Wray, Hardy Wray, Randy Wray, Pete Wray, James Wray and Jackie Wray.
Visitation was from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
