Bessie Jeanette “Nettie” Dean, 91, of New Albany, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Graceland Care Center in New Albany.
She was born Sept. 10, 1920 in New Albany to the late Thomas Potts and Minnie Bishop Potts. She was a retired factory worker and homemaker. She was a member of the Victory Life Center in New Albany.
Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Bishop and Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery in Guntown. United Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters Margaret Coltharp (Lenox) of Myrtle and Reba Spritzen of Crystal Lake, Ill., three sons Jessie Dean (Judy) of Wilcox, Ariz., Matthew Dean (Debra) of Baldwyn, and Loyd Wayne Brackeen (Billie) of Smithville, Tenn., a brother Robert Potts of Saltillo, 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Edward Dean, two daughters Louise Fetters and Mae Evelyn Dean, a sister Earline Smith, and three brothers Claude Potts, Clyde Potts, and James Potts.
Pallbearers were Leroy Coltharp, Charles Wright, Eddie Coltharp, Benny Kirk, Mark Dean, and Rodney Coltharp.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
