James Elvis Weeden, 70, of New Albany, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 13, 1941 in New Albany to the late John Lesley Weeden and Mildred Berryhill Weeden. He was a retired truck driver for Hillcraft Furniture. He was a founding member and trustee of Ecru Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a Mason.
Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Ecru Church of the Lord Jesus Christ with Rev. Carl Lawson, Rev. Carly Lawson, & Rev. Bobby Weir officiating. Interment was in Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Berryhill Weeden; his wife, JoeAnn Weeden; two daughters, Tanya Weir (Bobby) of Bloomington, Ind. and Sonya Dendy (Rev. Glenn) of New Albany; three sons Terry Weeden (Betsy), Jerry Weeden (Diane) and Keith Weeden (Pam), all of New Albany; two brothers John F. Weeden (Ivy) of New Albany and Dr. Carl Weeden (Glenda) of Corinth; a sister-in-law, Sara Weeden of New Albany; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father John Lesley Weeden, and a brother Gerald Weeden.
Pallbearers were Mitchell Weeden, Drew Weeden, Brian Weeden, Rev. Glenn Dendy, Bill Carlisle, Ricky Kirk, Lanny Burchfield and Jason Weeden. Honorary pallbearers were Dean Weeden, Tommy Weeden, Dr. Carl Weeden, John Weeden, Brantly Weeden, Russell Berryhill, Darrell Berryhill and Sammy Isbell.
Visitation was at 5 p.m. Monday at Ecru Church of The Lord Jesus Christ.
