Hello Falcon fans!

This week is Red Ribbon Week, which is a week to encourage students to abstain from drugs.  The SADD club passed out the red ribbons on Monday, which is accompanied by a new sticker each day to represent the fight against drugs and the ribbons are necessary to participate.  The students followed this schedule for the week:  Monday, “Shade Out Drugs!” (wear sunglasses); Tuesday, “Put a Cap On Drugs” ( wear an interesting hat):, Wednesday, “Sock-it to Drugs” (wear mismatch or crazy socks); Thursday, “Drugs Turn You Inside Out!” (wear clothes inside out); and Friday, “Don't Be a Sucker! Stay Away from Drugs!” (SADD officers passed out suckers).

Class pictures were made for the following groups on Thursday: Who's Who, K-12 class favorites, cross country and slow-pitch softball.  Also, Balfour was there to collect the $80 deposit for senior invitations and such.

Friday is a field day for 7th through 12th grades.  This is a day of games and there will be grilled hamburgers or hotdogs supplied for lunch and concessions later on.  The student council is sponsoring the games that each grade will have to compete in as a team.  For example, a person will be drawn out of the class to compete in each game.

Following the field day is Falcon Fest, from 1 to 3 p.m., which students will have to pay $5 to attend.  Donuts for Dad will be that morning for the elementary.

Kindergarten through third grade will be involved in Math Morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 1.  The Turkey Feather Fundraiser will begin that day as well.  Drape pictures will be made the following Tuesday, for which seniors will need to bring $25.

The student council will be going to an Ole Miss leadership conference on Wednesday, Nov. 3.  The American Legion will be at Ingomar to present the first grade with a flag at 8 a.m., Nov. 10.  The senior class will be going to Parchman as well that day.  The Veterans program will begin at 10 a.m., Nov. 11, in the auditorium.

“Meet the Falcons” was last Friday, Oct. 22, and began with the junior high basketball team scrimmage.  Each of Ingomar's teams were presented and then followed by the high school girls and boys basketball scrimmage games.  Ingomar's cross country team competed in the District Tournament on Oct. 23, where both boys and girls placed second in the district.  They finished with the following top ten:

Boys

Casey Rorie, 3rd

Ethan Taylor, 5th

Jonathan Sweatt, 9th

Girls

Dana Bramlitt, 6th

Abbey Robbins, 10th

The team will compete at state competitions on Nov. 6.

The high school girls' and boys' basketball teams will be playing Hickory Flat on Nov. 6 at Hickory Flat.  They will play against New Albany on Monday, Nov. 8 at Ingomar and travel to Pine Grove on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
