Thanksgiving dolls

The New Albany Garden Club sponsors the young gardeners at New Albany Elementary School.

For their Thanksgiving project, the students learned about the art of recycling and reusing products that people may easily throw away.

The name of the project was “Thanksgiving Recycled Bottle Dolls.”

The students brought two-liter bottles or gallon jugs, old t-shirts, and torn fabric scraps.

The students also learned about Thanksgiving.

Allyson Chapin said that she enjoyed making the head. She also liked to put makeup on her face.

Jaydan Elliott said, “I liked making the headress. I also learned that the Indians helped the pilgrims.”

Patrick Zyla said, “I learned that the Indians killed turkeys and ate them. I enjoyed putting the hat on my doll and making the face.”
