 Mrs. Gale Carr is retiring as a teacher at North Pontotoc.  A reception is being held in her honor on Thursday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school library. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information, you can call Shani Earnest at 419-6813.

Friendship Baptist Church members are hosting a bridal shower for Whitney Wilson, daughter of Buster and Pat Wilson, May 31 at 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Friendship Baptist’s Lightbearers will meet Friday night, May 22 at Kirk’s Grill at 6 p.m.

Victory Sunday will be observed May 31 at Friendship Baptist Church.  The men will cook chicken and fish and the ladies are asked to bring a dessert.

Graduation ceremonies will be held on the football field on Friday, May 22 at 8 p.m. at North Pontotoc.

Don’t forget baseball camp at North Pontotoc.  It is scheduled to begin May 27 and end May 30.  All ages are welcome.

Ecru’s new police department facility is almost complete.  It is a welcome addition for our town. An open house will be announced later.

The Camp Creek Gospel and Bluegrass Music Festival will not be held in the Lewisburg High School.  The event as released to the media is cancelled.

Any downsized version of the festival will be announced pending the location of an acceptable venue.  We apologize for any inconvenience created by this action.  If you have purchased a ticket, your donation will be refunded at the place of purchase. Thank you.  Lewisburg Ruritan Club.

The Camp Creek Gospel and Bluegrass Music Festival will be downsized and offered at The Lewisburg United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 30th from 3 to 6 p.m. in the sanctuary, the concert will honor the memory of Roy J Medders, and the remaining members of that group will play.  The Ricky Martin Family, Delta Blue, and Still Blessed will present the remainder of the program.  There is no charge for the evening.  Concessions will be available.  This is designed to preserve the Camp Creek heritage now in its second year, and to recall the colorful bluegrass life of Roy Medders.

‘Still Blessed’ will minister at the Lewisburg United Methodist regular fifth Sunday singing at 6 p.m. the 31st. They are one of America’s foremost women’s trios traveling today.
