WU sweeps Potts Camp, NA, EU fall

West Union

The Eagles belted 42 runs on 27 hits while only giving up three hits in a doubleheader against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Devin Brock and Will Basil were on the bump in the respective games, as West Union won 27-2 and 15-0.

Wesley Jumper, Bo Garrett, Hunter mcQuary, Taylor English, Luke Wait and Brock all had multiple hits in game one, as Garrett knocked two doubles, Jumper a triple and a homerun by Basil rounded out the hitting.

In the second game, Jumper, Garrett, Wait and Basil again had multiple hits, with Jumper and Garrett hitting two doubles, and Jumper, English, Wait and Basil all hitting doubles as well.

The Eagles are now 9-9 and will take on Myrtle next Monday.

Tish. Co. 19 New Albany 4

The Bulldogs dropped their divisional showdown with Tishomingo County Tuesday night, as they allowed 19 runs on 19 hits and committed six errors.

The ‘Dawgs were able to cut the deficit in half in the fourth, as they had four runs, making it 8-4, but eight runs by Tish. in the seventh gave them the demanding victory.

Joshua Googe had multiple hits for the ‘Dawgs, including a double, while Tyler Basil notched the loss on the mound.

New Albany will next play at Center Hill on Thursday and host Corinth on Saturday.

New Site 6 East Union 5

New Site came back in the end to defeat the Urchins 6-5 Tuesday night.

Up 5-3 in the final inning, East Union allowed three runs, giving New Site the division win, despite committing six errors.

Casey McBrayer falls to 2-2, as the Urchins gave up six runs on five hits and committed two errors.

Now 14-9, East Union will host Mantachie for Senior Night Friday night.
